Geography:

We are both near water and mountains. This makes trade easier and mountains help protect us from other city-states.  Also each state could use these natural features for defense For example Athens used the mountains that made up the Acropolis defense and Hermicous uses the rocky shores to combat invasion.

Beliefs and Government:

Even though we use an oligarchical democracy, our base system is a democracy which is what Athens used too. We have a council like them but ours is downsized to 21 people when theirs was 500 people. We have an election instead of a lottery. Also, we have the same ostracism. Ostracism is when someone gets to powerful then they get exiled. Lastly, both city-states believe in Polytheism, the belief in many gods.

Social Classes and Population:

We both have similar social classes or rankings. Men were ranked higher than women and children, and slaves are the bottom ranking. Also, only men are citizens because they have more power over the women. In addition, we have similar jobs including philosopher, farmer, sailors, business owners, officials, traders, and artisans.

Domestic and Foreign Affairs:

We trade a lot just like Athens but our product variety is a wider range, unlike Athens.

Education:

We think education is important but it's not the most important. Athens thinks education is very important. Richer families can send their kids to apprenticeships.
