The city of Hermicous is located on the island of Karpathos. The topography of the island is rocky and mountainous to the north and more consistant to the south. The main city is located on Moraitis Bay. The shores around the bay are rugged and rocky making it hard to invade and easy to defend. The southern plains are mostly used for farming and the northern mountains are used for herding. Like in many other places in Greece with rocky terrain goats and sheep are herded for meat and dairy. The southern platue is very limited in area, therefore we must trade other goods for most of our food. The fact that the state is on an island impacts the lives of our citizens because we can and need to trade.
